Job Summary
Lead frontline triage operations and deliver safe, high-quality nursing care including wound care, IV therapy, suturing, and phlebotomy within Urgent Care settings. Escalate high-acuity patients to the Medical Practitioner, provide clinical handovers, and mentor nursing staff while assisting with rostering and team coordination. Ensure accurate clinical documentation, maintain stock levels, and uphold workplace health and safety standards. This role requires current AHPRA registration, minimum five years post-graduate nursing experience, and one year of Emergency Department experience. No overnight shifts are required, with availability for evenings and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Minimum 5 years post-graduate nursing experience
- Minimum 1 year Emergency Department experience within the last 5 years
- Demonstrated experience in emergency triage
- Previous experience in primary care or Urgent Care settings highly regarded
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to recognise and escalate patient deterioration appropriately
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Passion for patient-centred care and clinical leadership
- Availability to work evenings and weekends as required
- Working With Children Check
- National Police Check
- International Police Check where relevant
- Comply with child safety policies and the Code of Conduct
- Complete mandatory child safety training on commencement and annually
- Maintain professional standards that support the safety and wellbeing of children and vulnerable people
