Urgent Care Team Leader

Job Summary
Lead and support Urgent Care triage by assessing, prioritising patients, and recognising clinical deterioration to ensure safe escalation. Provide high-quality nursing care including wound care, IV therapy, suturing, and phlebotomy while assisting Medical Practitioners with procedures. Deliver patient education, discharge support, and mentorship to nursing staff during onboarding and training. Coordinate daily team rosters, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and monitor stock, medications, and equipment to uphold workplace health and safety. Work evenings and weekends within a multidisciplinary team, applying strong critical thinking and communication skills to drive clinical excellence and team development in our expanding national network.
Required Qualifications
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Minimum 5 years' post-graduate nursing experience
- Minimum 1 year Emergency Department experience within the last 5 years
- Demonstrated emergency triage experience
- Primary Care or Urgent Care experience highly regarded
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Ability to recognise and escalate deterioration
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team
- Availability to work evenings and weekends
- Working With Children Check
- National Police Check
- International Police Check where relevant
- Successful candidates must comply with child safety policies and the Code of Conduct, complete mandatory child safety training and maintain professional standards that support the safety and wellbeing of children and vulnerable people
