Job Summary
Urgent Care Physician needed to diagnose and treat acute and non-life-threatening conditions in an outpatient urgent care clinic. Responsibilities include acute patient care (respiratory infections, GI distress, minor fractures, lacerations, UTIs, allergic reactions), management of chronic disease exacerbations, minor procedures (laceration repair, abscess I&D, splinting, foreign body removal, basic eye exams), diagnostic interpretation (POC labs, ECGs, digital X-rays), patient disposition decisions (transfer to ED or discharge with follow-up), collaborative leadership of a multidisciplinary team, and thorough documentation in EHR. Requires MD/DO, completed Internal Medicine residency, Board Certified or Board Eligible, active license, DEA, ACLS (PALS a plus), and strong acute-care skills. Schedule options include full-time or part-time with weekdays/evenings/rotating weekends; no overnight call. Location: Houston, TX.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
- ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
- Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of practice
- Active DEA registration
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification is a plus for pediatric populations
- Proficiency with modern EHR systems
