Job Summary
Urgent Care Physician role at VA Pacific Islands Health Care System in Honolulu, HI: provide timely evaluation and treatment of acute medical issues in an urgent care setting, order and interpret diagnostics, coordinate with PCPs and specialists, participate in multidisciplinary rounds and quality improvements, mentor residents and medical students, and ensure veteran-centered care. Schedule Mon-Sat 8:00 am–6:00 pm with potential night/overnight coverage during disaster events; required to participate in disaster surge and pandemic-related patient care; board certification/eligibility in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine, and ACLS certification are required. Located in Honolulu with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth within the VA system.
Required Qualifications
- Board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine
- Completed a qualifying residency
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Experience in urgent care or emergency department settings preferred
- Participate in back-up call schedule during disasters, surge events, and shift coverage emergencies
- Ability to provide patient evaluation, diagnostics, procedures, and coordination of care
- Commitment to veteran-centered, compassionate care and adherence to VA standards
