Urgent Care Physician Assistant (PA-C)

Job Summary
Provide urgent and non-urgent outpatient care in an urgent care setting; perform comprehensive medical examinations, order tests and referrals, and counsel patients and families on health issues. Deliver care with a focus on an outpatient, ambulatory environment, participate in clinic protocol development, and lead/coordinate the medical team while maintaining high standards of practice. Requires Florida PA license (and DOT Medical Examiner certification), ability to work evenings/weekends as needed, and comfort delivering care across a culturally diverse patient population. The role includes documentation of procedures and visits, coordination with supporting staff, and ongoing professional development via continuing education credits.
Required Qualifications
- Active FL license as a Certified Physician Assistant which includes dispensing of medications and prescribing of controlled substances
- Certified Medical Examiner of the Department of Transportation
- Excellent interpersonal skills and empathy towards patients
- Ability to relate to culturally diverse patients and community
- Able to develop teaching and counseling sessions, as needed
- Scheduling flexibility to rotate hours and shifts; willingness to be called during emergencies
- Ability to perform minor procedures such as laceration repair, splinting, incision and drainage, wound care, ear irrigation, pelvic exams, etc.
