Urgent Care PA/NP

Job Summary
Conduct physical exams, assess health status, order and interpret tests, and prescribe medications while treating illnesses including injections and wound suturing. Consult with physicians for complex cases, triage patient calls, respond to emergencies using CPR, and counsel patients on preventive care. Document patient information in medical records and may maintain department statistical databases. Requires a Bachelor's degree, accredited PA program completion, and four years of healthcare experience prior to PA training plus one year as a PA. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Successful completion of accredited physician assistant program
- Four years of health care experience prior to applying to PA program
- One year of experience as PA
- Reasoning Ability
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Thorough knowledge in computer information systems
- Ability to frequently stand
- Ability to frequently walk
- Ability to frequently sit
- Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
- Ability to reach with hands and arms
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to talk or hear
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Local travel during the business day
- Some out-of-the-area and overnight travel
