Job Summary
Provide efficient, high-quality care in the outpatient clinic, telehealth, and occupational medicine settings by obtaining patient histories, performing assessments, and managing health conditions using prescriptive authority. Order and interpret diagnostic testing, including radiology, point-of-care, lab, and EKG readings, while performing minor procedures such as laceration repair and incision and drainage. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff development, and patient education, adapting communication styles to diverse populations. Work under a Medical Director's supervision in a collaborative practice model, maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Maintain computer proficiency for data entry and travel between facilities, including weekend and holiday coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Nursing
- Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant Medicine or Health Sciences, or graduate of an approved Physician Assistant Training Program
- Licensed in the state of practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Family Nurse Practitioner ANCC/AANPCP Certified or Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner ANCC/AANPCP Certified and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner ANCC/AANPCP Certified
- Licensed in the state of practice as a Physician Assistant National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Certification
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification from the American Heart Association
- Eligible for Prescriptive Authority within the state of practice as outlined by the State Board of Nursing
- Working knowledge of Advanced Practice Provider policies and protocols at a department and campus/system level
- Reliable transportation as must be able to travel throughout and between facilities
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule including weekend and holiday coverage
- Ability to work independently as clinics are typically single or double provider coverage
- Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally
- Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue
- The incumbent works in a patient care area; works in an area where patients enter; works directly with patients; and/or works with specimens that could contain communicable diseases
- The incumbent has an occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases
- The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role
- Individuals who reside in and will work from the following areas are not eligible for remote work position: Colorado, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington, and Washington D.C.
Desired Qualifications
- 3 years' related working experience
- Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Medical Examiner Certification and registration with the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners
