Job Summary
Urgent care Advanced Practitioners (Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner) provide a wide range of clinical services in Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care urgent care centers, including examining and treating patients with acute episodic conditions (adults and children), taking medical histories, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests (X-rays, EKGs), diagnosing and prescribing medications, treating minor injuries with sutures, splints, or casting, and educating patients. The role requires 1 year of full-time experience in Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care (or 1 year in Family Medicine), national certification, and active state licensure. The position offers a $13,500 sign-on bonus for external candidates, with premium pay to float between centers and a 12-hour shift structure. The work locale is within 30 miles of the home center with full-time, center-based responsibilities in New London, CT, US.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree for Physician Assistants
- Master's Degree for Nurse Practitioners
- National Certification
- Active state medical licensure
- 1 year of Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care experience OR 1 year of Family Medicine experience
- Experience treating both adult and pediatric patients in acute care settings
- Suturing, splinting, casting abilities; EKG and X-ray interpretation; vaccinations; patient education
