Job Summary
Prisma Health Urgent Care seeks a compassionate Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) for Goose Creek, SC. The role involves evaluating and delivering high-quality medical care to adult and pediatric patients in a fast-paced urgent care setting, ensuring patient satisfaction, documenting services accurately, and supporting center operations. Must maintain BLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS, or NALS (or equivalent) and pursue any additional required certifications for the center. The position is full-time with a flexible 3-day/12-hour week schedule (no overnight shifts), includes competitive compensation with bonuses, CME allowance, paid time off, malpractice tail coverage, comprehensive benefits, and a 401K matching plan. Responsibilities include partnering with center physicians, providing patient- and family-centered care, ensuring appropriate resource management, supporting credentialing, and contributing to professional development. Reports to the Regional Medical Director and/or Area Clinical Operations Director. Candidates should hold a current SC license (NP/PA), be board certified or eligible, possess a valid DEA registration, and have experience with procedures like suturing and abscess drainage, plus proficiency in reading X-rays/EKGs. The role emphasizes outstanding bedside manner, teamwork, and a service-oriented approach.
Required Qualifications
- Board Certified (or Board Eligible) and Licensed to practice medicine in the state of practice
- Advanced degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program of study
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in accordance with the state of South Carolina
- Current DEA registration
- DOT certification
- Experience with suturing and drainage of abscesses
- Experience with reading diagnostic studies including x-rays and EKGs
- BLS certification (we will provide this if needed)
- Meets eligibility requirements for credentialing set forth by WellStreet Urgent Care
- Experience in Urgent Care, Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine preferred
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients, families and other employees
