Job Summary
Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner with a remote-friendly, full-time (40 hrs/week) role available in Rhode Island. Responsibilities include conducting age-appropriate history and virtual exams, diagnosing and treating a broad range of conditions across the lifespan, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans, managing acute/chronic/mental health conditions for pediatric and adult patients, coordinating referrals, educating patients and families, maintaining current clinical knowledge, and providing cross-coverage for lab result reviews. Requires an accredited Master’s or Doctoral-level FNP program, NP license with RN licensure, current FNP certification, RN compact license, multiple-state licensure (5+ preferred), and at least 3 years of experience in high-volume Urgent Care or Primary Care. Telemedicine/virtual care experience and Athena EMR familiarity are preferred. The role supports remote work and offers a compensation package with base salary, equity, and benefits, along with a schedule that may include evenings and weekends and a wide range of paid leave benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Master’s or Doctoral-level Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) program
- Active Nurse Practitioner (NP) license with RN licensure in accordance with state requirements
- Current national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner through AANP or ANCC
- Active RN compact license
- Active multi-state licensure (5+ licenses preferred)
- Minimum 3+ years post-training experience in high-volume Urgent Care or Primary Care settings
- Experience providing care to newborns through adult populations
- Ability to function within an integrated medical practice
- Strong clinical acumen and ability to manage a broad range of conditions
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and patient engagement skills
- Proficiency with technology and electronic medical records
- Maintain active Medicare status and not excluded from participation in federal health programs
