Urgent Care Family Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

Job Summary
Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with acute and episodic conditions while performing procedures like laceration repair, abscess drainage, and DOT physicals. Order, review, and interpret in-house labs and imaging, then prescribe medications and provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive health. Document encounters thoroughly in the electronic medical record with same-day chart completion and collaborate with clinic staff to maintain efficient patient flow. Practice as the sole provider on shift in a fast-paced urgent care setting supported by established clinical protocols and direct access to clinical leadership. Rotate weekends with no on-call requirements in Auburn or Opelika clinics.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) in Alabama, or eligible for licensure
- National certification: AANP or ANCC for NPs, NCCPA for PAs
- Minimum 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience
- Comfortable practicing as the sole provider on shift
- DOT Medical Examiner certification, or willingness to complete within 6 weeks of start
- Current BLS certification
- Rotating weekends
- Full-time, rotating 3-4 schedule (three shifts one week, four the next)
- No on-call requirements

- Urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care experience preferred
- Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and a patient-centered approach to care
