Job Summary
Urgent Care Clinical Therapist (LMSW/LCSW/LMHC) provides on-site and remote direct therapeutic services to pediatric patients (ages 5–26), their families, and adults within a multidisciplinary urgent care setting. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing and implementing treatment plans, discharge planning, and maintaining timely documentation (clinical assessments, treatment plans, and patient records within 48 hours). The role involves using standardized tools (PHQ9, GAD7, etc.), delivering short-term therapy across modalities, participating in clinical team meetings, and providing education and referrals to PM Mental Health services or other resources. The position requires strong crisis intervention and communication skills, collaboration with healthcare teams, and the ability to represent PM Mental Health in interactions with local providers, hospitals, and payers. Onsite locations include Rockville Centre, Mamaroneck, Forest Hills, Syosset, and Selden with hybrid/remote coordination as applicable for treatment and consultations.
Required Qualifications
- Must be independently licensed in state of practice
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Understanding the roles of the healthcare team
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Deep understanding the psychosocial aspects of illness and health
- Experience of community facilities and resources for discharge planning
- Superb written and verbal communication skills
