Job Summary
Urdu Linguist sought to support ongoing and future foreign language and linguistic requirements across YSG/TU, providing interpretation (in-person and virtual), translation of written/electronic/audio/video materials, document review/editing, and foreign language instruction in classroom or virtual formats. Open evergreen requisition for multiple language-support roles; opportunity to support a range of language services across government contracts.
Required Qualifications
- Must be qualified/certified at one of CAT I/II/III categories (ILR level 2+ in English for CAT I; ILR level 2+ in English with US citizen or cleared status for CAT II; ILR level 3 in English for CAT III)
- Ability to provide idiomatic translations and consecutive interpretation between English and a foreign language
- Experience providing foreign language instruction to adult students
- Shall understand cultural norms and local customs
- Willingness to live and work in harsh environments and under high pressure
- Team-oriented, capable of functioning as part of a professional linguist team
- U.S. citizenship or eligibility and ability to obtain required security clearances (CAT I: local national/TCN/uncleared U.S. citizen with background check; CAT II: U.S. citizens with SECRET clearance; CAT III: U.S. citizens with TOP SECRET/SCI access)
- Ability to work in both in-person and virtual settings
- Experience translating written, electronic, audio, and video materials
- Ability to review and edit documents and deliver foreign language instruction
