Job Summary
Conduct onsite support at the Ballard Urban Rest Stop, managing daily cleaning, restocking hygiene supplies, and maintaining facility cleanliness. Schedule appointments for shower and laundry use, monitor patron behavior, and enforce safety rules while mediating conflicts and de-escalating incidents. Document all activities, incidents, and maintenance needs in the Daily Log and patron database, reporting issues to the manager within 24 to 48 hours. Provide personal assistance and distribute care items as requested, ensuring patrons have access to resources and community agency support. Work Monday through Friday from 6 AM to 3 PM in a busy environment, wearing a mask at all times.
Required Qualifications
- Able to read, write and communicate in English
- One year relevant experience i.e. cleaning and customer service
- Ability to work effectively and respectfully with staff and patrons who represent diverse cultural, economic, social, and ethnic communities, sexual orientations, and physical and mental abilities
- Ability to work in a busy, fast paced environment
- Basic computer skills
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must pass criminal background check and drug screen
- Must wear a mask at all times while on-site
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Previous home health aide, nursing/psychiatric aide, orderly, chore service, social service assistant/aide or janitorial experience of one year in a commercial, private, health or social service agency setting
- Previous work experience in a comparable, social service environment, such as a Homeless shelter, Transitional Housing, multi-service center or other direct human services provision
- Ability and experience in successful conflict resolution and de-escalation
- Previous work experience and ability to work with Safe Harbors database
