Job Summary

Conduct proactive patrols of 2,600 acres of open space, 68 miles of trails, and 26 parks to promote voluntary compliance through education and problem-solving. Enforce Metro District rules by issuing warnings, parking citations, and criminal summons when appropriate, while responding to visitor concerns, complaints, and emergencies. Prepare reports, citations, and supporting documentation, and provide support to partner agencies including the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and Colorado Parks and Wildlife. Assist in training new Rangers, identify training needs, and recommend process improvements to supervisors. Work flexible 40-hour shifts from 6:00 a.m. to sunset, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as staffing requires.
