Job Summary
Sr Technician for UPW/IWT piping and welding on the Samsung Austin Semiconductor campus. Responsibilities include prioritizing daily tasks, working with minimal supervision, assembling pipe sections, reading prints, diagnosing piping issues, and applying extensive knowledge of Poly Pro/PVDF piping and welding. Skills include mechanical aptitude, welding, soldering/brazing, and proficiency with CMMS software, Microsoft Office, and Confluence; role requires effective communication with customers and supervision in a 24x7 manufacturing environment with potential exposure to hazardous chemicals.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent and technical school certification preferred (State Plumbing License or equivalent)
- Typically requires 5+ years of experience
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate all necessary tools and equipment
- As directed, assembles pipe sections, tubing, or fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing, or welding equipment
- Extensive knowledge of Poly Pro/PVDF piping and welding
- Ability to read and understand prints
- Diagnose piping issues and correct in the field
