Job Summary
Uptown Site Coordinator responsible for the overall management and daily operations of a YMCA afterschool program site. Oversees day-to-day operations, supervises staff and volunteers, plans and implements academic support, enrichment activities, and physical fitness, ensures compliance with YMCA policies and licensing regulations, maintains attendance and program documentation, builds relationships with school partners and families, communicates progress with parents, manages student behavior, coordinates events and field trips, maintains staff-to-student ratios, conducts safety drills, and supports enrollment, registration, and outreach. Requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills; CPR/First Aid within 30 days. High school diploma is required; related degree preferred; minimum 5 years in afterschool/youth development with supervisory experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, Recreation, or a related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in an afterschool or youth development program with increased responsibility
- At least 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate practices
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (email, attendance systems, reporting tools)
- Must pass all pre-employment requirements
- CPR/First Aid certification required within first 30 days of employment
