Job Summary
Manage the classroom by creating a safe, structured, loving, and fun learning environment for young children while enforcing school rules and policies. Interact appropriately with children and parents, lead the group through positive behavior modeling, and work alongside aides to ensure safety and achieve classroom goals. Maintain the provided schedule and curriculum, participate in emergency drills, and adhere to state licensing guidelines and the Empowerment Program standards. This Christian preschool reflects its beliefs through Biblical instruction and welcomes children of all faiths and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrates a heart and passion for children
- Working knowledge of childcare regulations and safety practices
- Must be versatile and collaborative team player with the ability to work independently
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks. Be able to prioritize effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, and co-workers.
- Ability to manage and resolve conflict with an attitude of humility
- Ability to use good judgement and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to handle emergency situations with a professional and confident demeanor
- A personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- Theologically and doctrinally aligned with Heights Church on important matters
- Demonstrates evidence of a Christ-like attitude in words and actions, with humility
- Must meet AZ State requirements for a Preschool Teacher
- A clear background check, fingerprint and safety check is required
- Maintain CPR and First Aid certifications
- HS diploma and 6+months experience
- Associates or Bachelors in ECE
- NAC/CDA/CCP certificate
- Will be required to attend 18 hours of training per year
- Will be required to have a current first aid and CPR training card/certificate
- Will be required to pass a background check and have a level one fingerprint clearance card
- Will be updated on her vaccinations and have a negative TB test (within the last 6 months)
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and color vision
Desired Qualifications
- A Degree or Certificate in Early Childhood is preferred
- An understanding of young children and their developmentally appropriate needs
- Previous experience as a Preschool Teacher is preferred
