UPS Technician

Job Summary
Test uninterruptible power supply systems, troubleshoot alarms and equipment issues, and perform capacitor and component replacements. Terminate and replace UPS systems ranging from 5 to 200 KVA, install maintenance bypass switches, and use oscilloscopes, voltmeters, and ammeters to verify electrical systems operating between 48 to 480 VDC and 120 to 480 VAC. Travel offshore by boat or helicopter as required to work independently with minimal supervision, while completing accurate and timely job reports. A valid driver's license and willingness to pass a drug screen are necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience testing and servicing UPS systems
- Experience replacing capacitors and other UPS components
- Experience troubleshooting UPS alarms and electrical issues
- Experience terminating and replacing UPS systems ranging from 5 to 200 KVA
- Experience installing maintenance bypass switches
- Ability to use oscilloscopes, voltmeters, and ammeters
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Willingness and ability to travel offshore
- Current and valid driver's license
- Ability to successfully pass a drug screen
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with NEC standards and electrical codes
