Job Summary
Field Service Engineer to install, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain UPS and related power electronics at customer sites; role is home-based with dispatch to customer sites as required. Requires 3-5+ years in the critical power industry, strong troubleshooting skills down to component level on equipment such as UPS, batteries, PDU, and related gear, and the ability to provide high-quality customer service. Responsibilities include supporting installs, preventive maintenance, emergency response, equipment start-up, and field modifications; training at headquarters on OEM units and SOPs; documenting Field Service Reports; and traveling to customer sites. Must be capable of lifting up to 100 lbs, using hand tools and test equipment, and willing to work nights and weekends when necessary. A technical degree is a plus; previous military experience and training a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication and customer relations skills are required.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years experience in critical power industry
- Ability to troubleshoot down to component level on UPS, batteries, PDU, etc.
- Technical degree in engineering/technical field (preferred)
- Ability to work independently and provide quality customer service
- Experience completing Field Service Reports
- Willingness to work nights and weekends when necessary
