Job Summary
UPS Field Service Engineer for Southern California with home-based dispatch to customer sites; role focuses on commissioning, maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and emergency support of UPS and related power electronics at customer sites within the regional coverage area. Requires hands-on work with equipment (UPS, batteries, PDU, STS, etc.), field service reporting, design-review/performance of commissioning tests, and coordination with HQ/SOPs; ideal candidate has 3-5+ years in critical power, technical schooling, and willingness to travel, including nights and weekends. Experience with Liebert/Emerson/Vertiv, APC/MGE/Schneider, or Eaton/Powerware and the ability to provide proactive recommendations to clients are a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Technical degree or equivalent experience
- 3-5+ years experience in critical power/UPS or related field
- Ability to troubleshoot down to component level (UPS, batteries, PDU, STS, etc.)
- Experience in commissioning, maintenance, testing, and emergency support at customer sites
- Strong communication and customer relation skills
- Ability to work independently and travel to customer sites (including nights/weekends)
