Job Summary
UPS Field Service Engineer responsible for commissioning-focused design reviews, on-site testing, preventive maintenance, emergency response, and field modifications on UPS and critical power equipment. Duties include troubleshooting UPS systems, batteries, PDUs, STSs, and related power electronics; developing Methods of Procedures (MOPs); coordinating with technical support to resolve issues; completing Field Service Reports with proactive client recommendations; training at company headquarters on testing equipment and system rebuilds; and working independently from a home base with primary coverage across South Florida and occasional national travel. Requires 3–5 years of field UPS/critical power experience, OEM training or experience with major brands, strong communication and customer-service skills, ability to lift up to 100 lbs, and willingness to work nights, weekends, and on-call. The role offers a base salary of $75,000–$92,000 depending on experience, plus benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on UPS and critical power field service experience; 10+ years preferred
- OEM factory training or direct experience with Emerson/Liebert/Vertiv, APC/MGE/Schneider, or Eaton/Powerware/PDI
- Proficient with hand tools and test equipment for maintenance and repairs
- Strong verbal, written communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently with resourcefulness and initiative
- Knowledge of equipment manufacturers' specifications
- Physically capable of repeated bending and lifting up to 100 lbs
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and on-call as needed
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software
- Clean driving record
