Job Summary
Upper School Teacher at Second Baptist School responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering lesson plans and instructional materials to foster active learning; using technology to differentiate instruction; managing classroom behavior and maintaining records; communicating with parents and participating in school meetings; observing and evaluating student performance and providing feedback; collaborating on school initiatives; requiring state teaching certification and a bachelor's degree with a master’s preferred, and valuing strong Christian testimony and service orientation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- State certification in teaching in the appropriate subject area
- Master's degree in education is preferred
- Strong Christian testimony and calling to serve as a positive Christian role model
- Ex Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lead and support school-wide initiatives
- Proficiency in technology and strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans; develop schemes of work and tests; differentiate instruction using technology; manage classroom behavior; maintain records; participate in meetings; observe and evaluate student performance; provide feedback and prepare reports; communicate objectives to students/parents; participate in professional activities; prior teaching experience or teacher certification is a plus
- An advanced degree, independent school teaching, coaching and prior knowledge of Second Baptist Church and School are all considered a plus
