Job Summary
Upper School English Teacher for grades 6-12 responsible for developing and delivering instruction using an Understanding by Design framework, differentiating instruction, and assessing student learning. Role emphasizes Christian discipleship, biblical integration, and fostering a faith-driven classroom. Responsibilities include unit/lesson planning, classroom management, collaboration with colleagues, participation in curricular and co-curricular activities, and leveraging technology (Canvas) to support instruction. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in English (or related discipline), ability to collaborate with teams, effective communication, and alignment with CCS mission and Statement of Faith. Fingerprint background check required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with focus in English or related discipline
- Three years of demonstrated, effective teaching experience in English at related grade levels preferred
- Ability to collaborate well with colleagues in all areas of education including planning, assessment, student care, and student life
- Ability to work effectively with a variety of learners
- Experience in the use of technology for instruction
- Knowledge of Scripture and its application to pedagogy
- Employment contingent on fingerprint-based background check
- Agreement with CCS Statement of Faith and Faith in Jesus Christ
