Job Summary
Carry out lesson plans and classroom procedures set by the assigned teacher to ensure a quality learning experience for elementary and middle school students. Assign classwork and homework as prescribed, employing instructional methods that meet lesson objectives while maintaining a positive environment. Manage classroom behavior, supervise students in hallways, at lunch, recess, and during drop-off or pick-up, and ensure progress toward daily learning goals. Possess the knowledge to instruct students using age-appropriate strategies and maintain an engaging atmosphere. This part-time role commences August 2026 and reports to the appropriate Division Head.
Required Qualifications
- Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
- Must have an audible voice and adequate hearing and vision in order to supervise the students, both indoors and outdoors
- Sufficient mobility and agility needed to interact with children
- Must have the physical agility to lift up to 50 pounds and to bend, stoop, climb stairs, and reach overhead
Desired Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree and teaching experience are preferred
- Ability to develop rapport with students and exhibits enjoyment in working with students
- Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrate computer literacy and proficiency
- High -energy and enthusiastic about working in an academic atmosphere with both adults and children
