Job Summary
Teach five sections of Religion to high school students (grades 9-12) following the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops Curriculum Framework; demonstrate a Catholic faith witness and knowledge of Catholic intellectual tradition; lead students to encounter Jesus Christ using best pedagogical practices; collaborate with Campus Ministry to support faith life; participate in liturgical events (Mass, penance services, prayer services); plan and deliver instruction with varied methods, assess student learning, and differentiate instruction to meet diverse needs; work toward certification as a High School Religion Teacher in the Archdiocese of Washington; embody the charism of the Society of the Holy Child Jesus while promoting Catholic social teaching and the goals of the Holy Child Network of Schools.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Theology/Religious Studies
- 3-5 years of Catholic high school teaching experience (preferred)
- Practicing Catholic in good standing (required)
- Teaching credential (preferred)
