Job Summary
Teach two sections of AP Physics, one section of Engineering and Design and one section of Design Thinking; participate in all-school and department activities, including assemblies, admissions events, and project-week initiatives; serve as an advisor/homeroom teacher; proctor exams and manage finals/504 accommodations; chaperone events and sponsor at least one club; hold regular office hours; contribute to curriculum development, assessment design, and ongoing professional development; collaborate with grade-level teams and teaching partners to differentiate instruction, foster student success, and promote a diverse and inclusive learning environment; utilize the LMS for grading and communication; participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives; maintain timely reporting and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in physics, engineering, or related field
- 3 years of experience in teaching, preferably at upper school level
- Ability to teach AP Physics, Engineering and Design, and Design Thinking at advanced level
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in a classroom setting
- Proficiency with rubrics, standards, and essential questions
- Experience with UbD and UDL frameworks (preferred)
- Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development
- Demonstrated leadership and student-centered instructional approaches
