Job Summary
Implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities for 4-year-olds while maintaining open communication with parents regarding daily milestones. Ensure a safe and clean classroom by following essential procedures and guidelines. Frequently lift, carry, or hold children weighing 10 to 40 pounds, occasionally handling heavier loads, while demonstrating full range of motion to participate in activities. Respond immediately and appropriately to multiple or unexpected situations or emergencies to ensure the safety of children in Bright Horizons care. Work in person in an early education/preschool child care center to provide supervision, care, curriculum delivery and services per Bright Horizons' policies, procedures and guidance.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field
- NYS Teaching Certification (B-2, N-6, 1-6, Special Education)
- 1 year teaching experience
- Ability to comply with all applicable federal, state, local, Bright Horizons', and client site requirements concerning immunizations, employment physical/screening, and health and safety training
- Ability to work in person in an early education/preschool child care center
- Ability to frequently lift, carry, or hold children with a range of weight from 10 to 40 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or hold weight more than 40 pounds
- Full range of motion to lift, reach, squat, climb, sit, and otherwise fully participate in activities
- Ability to respond immediately and appropriately to multiple or unexpected situations or emergencies
- Mental and physical alertness and an appropriate level of energy to perform essential job requirements
