Job Summary
Support the lead teacher in planning and executing daily activities for 4- and 5-year-olds while maintaining open communication with parents to share daily milestones. Ensure a safe and clean classroom by following essential procedures and guidelines. Maintain mental and physical alertness to respond immediately to unexpected situations or emergencies, including lifting and moving children weighing between 10 to 40 pounds. This role requires full in-person supervision, care, and curriculum delivery at a Bright Horizons early education center, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and safety training.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age
- high school diploma or GED
- pass required state and company background checks
- meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice (DAP) for 4- and 5-year-old children
- comply with all applicable federal, state, local, Bright Horizons', and client site requirements concerning immunizations, employment physical/screening, and health and safety training
- work in person in an early education/preschool child care center
- maintain both mental and physical alertness
- have the appropriate level of energy to meet the essential job requirements
- be ready to respond immediately and appropriately to multiple or unexpected situations or emergencies
- have the full range of motion allowing you to lift, reach, squat, climb, sit, and fully participate in various activities
- frequently need to lift, move, or hold children weighing between 10 to 40 pounds
- occasionally handle weights exceeding 40 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year of professional experience teaching in child care, daycare, or preschool settings
