Job Summary
Upholstery Technician needed to perform fabrication, repair, and refurbishment of aircraft interiors, including seats, soft goods, cabin panels, carpet installation, and custom components. Responsibilities include sewing, stitching, patterning, cutting, and assembly of leather, vinyl, and fabric; refinishing cabin elements; leveraging industrial sewing machines and pattern tools; inspecting refurbished components for fit and finish; and maintaining FAA/OSHA safety compliance. Responsibilities also involve preparing surfaces for reupholstery, documenting materials used, supporting quality assurance, and collaborating with Interior Leads, Cabinet Technicians, and Paint teams to support interior refurbishment schedules. Must read engineering drawings and design specifications, handle adhesives and textiles safely, and lift up to 50 lbs in a fast-paced MRO environment with overtime/alternate shifts as needed. 2–5+ years of upholstery experience across applicable domains required.
Required Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of aircraft, automotive, furniture, or industrial upholstery experience
- Experience with sewing, patterning, material handling, and upholstery equipment
- Ability to read work orders, drawings, and material layouts
- Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
