Job Summary
Operate upholstery lines by attaching fabric, fiber, and components to pre-assembled frames using a staple gun, scissors, and hammer per Standard Operating Procedures. Upholster furniture at a minimum pace of 6 pieces per hour, aiming for 8 pieces per hour, while adhering to quality standards and safety protocols. Practice safe work habits, maintain accurate records, and follow documented procedures in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Perform duties with professional courtesy and integrity, assisting colleagues as needed. Work independently with little supervision, interpreting production tickets and simple instructions to meet delivery requirements.
Required Qualifications
- At least 1 year of upholstery experience in production of upper-end upholstered furniture manufacturing environment
- Pay attention to detail
- Can work with their hands
- Experience in reading and understanding production tickets
- Ability to interpret simple instructions commonly placed in a production manual
- Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills both oral and written
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Ability to keep accurate records
- Follow documented procedures and standards
- Excellent time-management skills
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Ability to frequently lift frames weighing 50 -60lbs
- Ability to sit or stand for 10-hour periods
- Ability to bend and twist at waist and knees as required to upholster furniture
- Ability to bend and twist as required to upholster furniture
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- At least 3 years' experience in an upper-end upholstery manufacturing environment
- Ability to speak English and understand Spanish
