Job Summary
Provide personal care to residents under supervision and perform selected tasks within knowledge and skill, adhering to regulatory and company standards. Work with the inter-professional team to follow the plan of care, assist with mobility and transfers, observe and report changes in residents’ condition, administer medications/treatments with proper documentation, document care in required forms, and escalate concerns to the supervisor as needed. Deliver cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to residents and families; maintain confidentiality; ensure a safe and clean environment; participate in mandatory education and training; uphold ethics and integrity; and perform other assigned tasks to support resident well-being.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of Personal Support Worker program or equivalent healthcare professional training
- Experience working with seniors in the community health services setting
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required
- Ability to perform tasks that are necessary for the position, e.g., lifting/transferring clients
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Organizational and time management skills
- Interpersonal and customer focus skills
- Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening (VPS) including a Criminal Background Check or willingness to obtain one
