Job Summary
Conduct daily newsroom operations under supervision, assisting reporters, photojournalists, and producers with broadcast journalism and video production tasks. Participate in meaningful learning experiences while adhering to all safety rules, company confidentiality protocols, and trade secret protections. Maintain strict adherence to instructions and collaborate effectively within the team. This unpaid internship requires juniors or seniors in broadcast journalism, video production, or communication degrees and must be for college credit. The program is part of Nexstar Media Group's local television broadcasting group, which produces over 310,000 hours of programming annually across 200 owned or partner stations.
Required Qualifications
- Juniors and seniors studying broadcast journalism, video production, or other communication degrees
- Internships must be for school credit
- Be of advanced skill level due to complexity of projects
- A collaborative worker with a willingness to learn
- Previous internship experience
- Must abide by all safety rules and procedures of Company
- Must exert best efforts in receiving training and cooperate with and follow the instructions of employees of Company
- Must maintain strictly the confidences of Company, the customers of Company, all information or data received regarding Company and any of its trade secrets or any other confidential business information received by the Student
