Job Summary
UAS Specialist role supporting FAA NAS access for Unmanned Aircraft Systems within the NISC IV program. Fully remote position based in the US (Eastern Service Center) with responsibilities including SME expertise to assist with COA applications for NAS access, feasibility analysis with AT facilities, writing and coordinating Special Provisions for flight operations, distribution of COA approvals, and providing SME support for inquiries regarding COA processes and UAS operational areas. Collaborates with FAA and DoD entities, reviews MOA/Class D/G notifications, and supports real-time ESA UAS activities. Requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree with 6+–8+ years of relevant experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and proficiency with NAS regulatory requirements and UAS tools such as TARGETS, RNAV PRO, PDARS, SDAT, OE/AAA, POET, DACS, SIAPs, SIDs, and RNAV. Target salary range is $120k–$135k.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree and 8+ years of relevant experience OR Masters degree and 6+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent)
- Extensive knowledge of the National Airspace System (NAS) and FAA Directives
- Strong written and verbal communication including technical writing and presentations
- Experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, databases, and internet tools
- Ability to work independently and in a team; liaison with FAA/DoD and field facilities
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) in UAS policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
