Job Summary
Unix Systems Engineer role focused on administering and maintaining Unix-based systems (AIX, RHEL, Debian) with emphasis on high-availability clustering, security hardening, automation, and cross-functional collaboration. Key duties include installation/configuration/patching of AIX, RHEL, Debian; managing HA environments (HP Serviceguard, Pacemaker/Corosync, Bull ARF); performance troubleshooting; disaster recovery planning; scripting/automation with Bash, KSH, Python and Ansible; on-call support; and documentation. Fluent Portuguese and English required. Nice to have VMware and cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP); container experience (Docker, Kubernetes).
Required Qualifications
- 5–10+ years of experience in Unix/Linux production environments
- Strong expertise in IBM AIX (LPAR, VIOS, NIM, LVM, JFS2)
- RHEL and Debian
- HA clustering, storage (SAN/NAS, multipath), networking (TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs)
- Scripting and automation (Bash, KSH, Python) and Ansible
- Security and compliance (SSH, sudo, PAM, firewalls, SELinux, auditing, access control)
- On-call rotation and DR/failover validation
- Fluent in Portuguese and English
