Job Summary
The UNIX/Linux Systems Administrator will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux workstations and servers in support of operational systems requirements. Key responsibilities include writing and administering scripts for automated system metrics, performing operational help desk support, and planning upgrades for COTS software and hardware. The role requires knowledge of UNIX/Linux system administration, Linux Clustering, IBM AIX, LDAP, SAN, and computer hardening principles. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree and have 10+ years of relevant experience, in addition to a Current and Active TS/SCI Clearance and Security+ certification.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in UNIX/Linux system administration
- Current and Active TS/SCI Clearance
- CompTIA Security+ Certification or equivalent at the time of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Linux Clustering
- Working knowledge of IBM AIX to include HACMP
- Working knowledge of backup and restore applications, preferable Tivoli
- Working knowledge of LDAP
- Working knowledge of SAN
- Knowledge of Cisco LAN switch command set
- Working knowledge of Secscan/WASSP/SCAP and computer hardening principles
- Oracle database familiarity
- Ability to shell script, preferable Korn and C Shell
- Problem solving skills
- Project Management skills
