Job Summary
Year-long paid residency for aspiring teachers at UTEP/YISD-aligned sites. Residents co-plan and co-teach with a mentor teacher, lead small group instruction, and gradually assume greater instructional responsibilities. The role includes attending professional development, participating in team planning and PLCs, using formative and summative assessments and rubrics to monitor progress, adapting high-standards differentiation-ready lesson plans, supervising students during transitions and activities, embracing ongoing feedback from MT and Site Coordinator, and fulfilling non-instructional duties as assigned. Required to meet district policies and state TEKS requirements; holds potential pathways toward degree and/or certification while engaged in a three-year commitment.
