Job Summary
Provost and Vice Chancellor of Academic and Student Affairs at the University of Montana Western. As chief academic officer, oversee faculty hiring and evaluation, tenure and promotion processes, development of curricula, curricular reviews, and adherence to the faculty collective bargaining agreement. Lead strategic planning, accreditation activities, program review, and assessment; collaborate with campus committees and the Chancellor’s Cabinet; partner with student affairs, finance, and administration to support Experience One initiatives and fundraising efforts; promote scholarship of teaching and learning and advance a strong teaching–learning environment for faculty and students.
Required Qualifications
- A doctoral degree from a regionally accredited institution is required
- Experience as an academic administrator
- Experience managing budgets and tenure/promotion processes
- Strong communication skills in speaking, listening, and writing
- Collaborative leadership with a record of faculty advocacy
- Experience with strategic planning, program review, and assessment
- Experience with accreditation processes (regional and specialized)
- Ability to work within shared governance and with student affairs, finance, and administration
