Job Summary
Conduct daily cleaning and maintenance of assigned campus areas, including sanitizing surfaces, vacuuming carpets, mopping floors, and managing waste receptacles. Lead the shift by supervising contract cleaners and student workers, overseeing work orders, and collaborating with the second shift to coordinate event setups and take-downs. Assist conference services with event logistics and approve student worker timesheets. Work a 40-hour week on the first shift (8:00 am – 4:30 pm) with potential overtime for snow removal or special events. This role supports Bethel University's Christ-centered mission by fostering a clean, safe environment for students across the St. Paul campus.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be a self-starter
- Ability to work both independently and on a team
- Excellent customer service attitude
- Must be able to prioritize and handle multiple duties
- Ability to use cleaning equipment
- Able to move moderately heavy items
- General knowledge of cleaning terms and safety procedures
- Must be able to supervise and direct a team
- Must be able to supervise and direct student employees
- Must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S.
- Must be available outside of normal working hours if needed to support contingency operations such as snow removal or support of special events
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Some post-secondary classwork
- 2+ years of custodial experience
- General knowledge of Google suite, Microsoft Office Suite and event planning software
