Job Summary
PhD student in the Neuromechanics Research Group will develop and implement research ideas within the project, design and conduct experiments and data collection protocols, perform musculoskeletal simulations, validate outcomes, and contribute to scientific publications and conference presentations. The role includes (co-) supervision of BSc/MSc students, assisting with teaching activities, collaborating with clinical partners, and working on the dissertation while contributing to project reporting and the group’s research infrastructure. The position offers flexible working hours with partial remote work, a four-year contract (initially 1.5 years with potential extension), and a salary described as a basic EUR 3,776.10 per month on a full-time basis. Requirements include an MSc in a related field, programming in MATLAB/Python, and strong interest in biomechanics, neuromechanics, and computational modeling; experience with motion capture, medical imaging, or OpenSim is advantageous; English proficiency is required, German desirable.
Required Qualifications
- MSc in biomechanics, sport science, biomedical engineering, computer science, or a related field
- Programming skills in MATLAB and/or Python
- Strong interest in musculoskeletal modeling, simulation, and movement analysis
- Experience with motion capture data, medical image processing, or computational modeling is advantageous
- Previous OpenSim-based simulations is a strong asset
- Previous scientific publications and presentations at conferences is a plus
- Fluent in English (written and spoken; German desirable but not required)
