Job Summary
Build rapport with students, families, and influencers to guide them through the financial aid process, ensuring proper award packaging and timely fund disbursement. Manage assigned caseloads by calculating offers, initiating payment plans, and making necessary updates to student awards while resolving complex barriers and escalated requests. Support the team by providing training and mentoring to newer advisors, adhering to federal and state regulations to maintain compliance. Work alternate hours including nights and weekends to serve students across all time zones, achieving stated operational outcomes for your caseload.
Required Qualifications
- 6 years customer service
- 6 years financial aid
- Must consent to audio and video recording of student financial aid appointments for training and quality assurance purposes required
- Demonstrates highest level of integrity, professional ethics, and confidentiality in all interactions
- Strong customer service skills with focus on student success
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Higher than average computer skills
- Multi-Tasking and Time Management Skills; can adapt to a changing fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Alternate work hours to support students across all time zones including nights and weekend work as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University is preferred
- Experienced candidates will be considered without a degree provided they have more than 10 years of financial aid experience and a combination of experience and education comparable to a bachelor's degree
