Job Summary
Overnight Full-Time Universal Worker provides high-quality personal care to senior living tenants, assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) and ambulation, and observing/assisting with medications under the direction of a nurse. Responsibilities include meal preparation, light housekeeping and laundry, social engagement, life enrichment activities, and documentation in tenant records. The role supports the tenant’s plan of care, monitors health indicators (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, weight, glucose as applicable), and reports significant changes to the nurse. Must maintain infection control, ensure tenant safety, and provide emotional and cognitive support while coordinating with the nursing staff. Requires current MN NA-R license and overnight shift coverage (10pm–6:30am) with every-other-weekend and holiday rotation.
Required Qualifications
- Current MN NA-R license (Nurse Aide)
- Ability to assist tenants with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming)
- Ability to assist with ambulation and therapeutic exercises
- Observation/assistance with medications under nurse direction
- Record-keeping and documentation in tenant records
- Ability to participate in plan of care development and review
- Compliance with infection control policies
- Ability to recognize emergencies and follow procedures
- Reasonable communication with tenants and families
