Job Summary
Conduct member service functions with accuracy, including cash handling, account maintenance, and opening new savings, checking, and money market accounts. Interview members to identify needs and present appropriate loan and deposit products, while verifying identification to prevent fraud. Maintain and balance cash drawers, process loan applications for underwriting approval, and assist with loan servicing such as payoffs and refinances. Operate an Interactive Teller Machine to provide video-based teller assistance, validate checks, and guide customers through routine transactions. Resolve member problems independently and escalate complex issues as needed. Work full-time Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday availability.
Required Qualifications
- Fluency in English
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Effective verbal communication skills
- Strong listening skills
- Knowledge of, or the ability to quickly learn banking software applications
- Working knowledge of SFCU's products, services, policies and procedures
- Understanding of federal laws and regulations that govern financial institutions
- Basic understanding of computer applications and software
- Strong basic math skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- U.S. Citizenship
- Successfully passing a background investigation
- High School Graduate or Equivalent (GED)
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail
- Ability to operate several computer programs
- Ability to validate checks presented for cashing or deposit
- Ability to protect customer confidentiality and privacy
- Ability to resolve member problems independently
- Ability to escalate complex problems or situations to a higher authority
- Ability to provide step-by-step guidance through the ITM process
- Ability to project good customer relations while conveying a positive banking/customer service experience utilizing video technology
- Ability to be comfortable, professional and friendly on camera with customers
- Ability to offer ancillary products on loans
- Ability to open new savings, checking and money market accounts
- Ability to verify personal identification to prevent fraudulent activity
- Ability to provide regulatory disclosure information on new and other specific types of accounts
- Ability to order or print plastics such as ATM cards, Debit cards and Credit Cards
- Ability to identify needs and develop financial relationships
- Ability to consistently provide members with opportunities for appropriate loan and deposit products and services
- Ability to maintain and balance a cash drawer
- Ability to prepare and evaluate information which reflects the current credit worthiness of members
- Ability to prepare consumer loans for underwriting approval based on SFCU lending policies and procedures
- Ability to generate and process loan applications for all consumer lending products, vehicle loans, credit cards, signature loans, and share and certificate secured loans
- Ability to notify applicants of loan decisions
- Ability to have a basic understanding of credit reports and SFCU's loan agreement
- Ability to effectively cross-sell more complex loan products
- Ability to assist member with servicing loans by processing such items as payoffs, refinances, payment extensions and payment due date changes
- Ability to ensure that lending operations are conducted in accordance with established Credit Union policies and are legally compliant
- Ability to ensure that loan requests are properly documented
- Ability to support the credit union's mission, vision, strategic goals, quality initiatives and service standards
- Ability to provide services in an expeditious and courteous manner
- Ability to educate members and inform them of the products and services
- Ability to meet individual goals by effectively cross selling products and services
- Ability to assist in surrounding branch locations as needed
- Ability to wear Company Logo Apparel
- Ability to occasionally participate in community events representing the Credit Union
- Ability to lift and/or move 20-25 pounds
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk
