Job Summary
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons and activities for enrolled children while organizing the classroom into a safe, optimal learning environment. Collaborate on curriculum development, facilitate group meetings, and work with parents to reinforce learning at home. Manage student behavior, particularly for children on the Autism spectrum, and assist in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Maintain accurate records, collect data, and ensure room sanitation per CDC and OCFS guidelines. Directly supervise aides and paraprofessionals while participating in professional development and community agency meetings.

- Effective Classroom Management Skills with emphasis on behavior management for children on the Autism spectrum
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Ability to facilitate group meetings
- Ability to set priorities and adapt to change
- Bachelor's Degree in Education
- New York State Certification in Early Childhood Education, Birth – Grade 2
- Clearance from Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) which includes NYS Department of Criminal Justice Services, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Statewide Central Register Database Check and NYS Justice Center
- Ability to provide documentation demonstrating that you are able to legally perform work in the United States
- Valid NYS Driver's License
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently throughout the day
- Ability to physically respond to students requiring behavioral or crisis interventions; within parameters of NYSED, and PBIS
- Ability to physically assist students requiring direct self-help care
- Specific vision is required by this job which includes close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus
- May be required to travel to various job sites
