Job Summary
Process transactions for savings, checking, and loan accounts while opening new deposit accounts, handling stop payments, and managing wire transfers. Serve as a single point of contact for customer financial needs by identifying expectations, resolving complaints, and expanding relationships through referrals. Balance transactions daily, maintain a neat work area, and ensure compliance with banking regulations including Regulation CC and the Bank Secrecy Act. Develop customer familiarity with self-service options and enroll clients in appropriate technology tools. This role operates in the dual capacity of a Teller and FSR, requiring one year of teller or cash handling experience and six months in customer relationship building or sales. The Universal Banker I supports SouthState's mission of fostering lasting relationships and pursuing excellence within the branch community.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Cash handling experience
- Sales experience
- Customer service experience
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good computer skills
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Must be able to lift, up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand and/or sit for long periods of time
- Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, reports, and cash denominations, and identify customers
- Must be able to travel to come to meetings or training as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Previous banking experience
- One year of teller or cash handling experience
- Six months customer relationship building or sales experience
- Demonstrated expertise in the Teller II and basic FSR job functions
