Job Summary
Manage a weekly group exercise program comprising over 30 classes by scheduling sessions, tracking participant data, and ensuring facility maintenance and supply stocking. Supervise fitness instructors through biannual performance reviews, mandatory training updates, and monthly staff meetings while occasionally serving as manager on duty for nights and weekends. Assist in teaching 6+ classes per week for diverse populations, design engaging class formats, and implement wellness events to drive member retention and sales. Collaborate with the Marketing Director on campaign execution and sales materials, and act as a liaison to report incidents and ensure adherence to the Emergency Action Plan.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 2 years of relevant program experience
- Accredited personal training and/or group exercise certification
- CPR and AED certified within 6 months of assuming position
- Ability to work well with various member populations and people of all ages
- Ability to complete multiple tasks with detail without close supervision
- Ability to solve practical problems in a variety of situations
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing and establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the public
- Ability to effectively operate telephone, computer, and various office equipment and software
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to lift and carry 15 lbs., unassisted
- Ability to lower objects, up to 15 lbs., from height of 36 inches to floor level, unassisted
- Ability to push/pull objects, up to 15 lbs., unassisted
- Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes
- Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand
- Ability to see and recognize objects at a distance
- Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception
- Good peripheral vision capabilities
- Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction
- Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements
- Ability to perform job functions in an upright position
- Ability to perform job functions in a seated position
- Ability to perform job functions while walking/mobile
- Ability to work indoors
