Job Summary
Unit Supervisor for NYC ACS/DCP Child Protective Services, supervising a team of 5 CPS Specialists and 1 Supervisor Level I, with responsibilities including reviewing records, ensuring timely assessments and service plans, providing ongoing training and guidance, monitoring performance, conducting conferences, and coordinating field visits. Requires a Master of Social Work (MSW) or related master’s degree, proven managerial/supervisory accomplishments in child protection or related human services, strong communication skills, familiarity with case management systems, and ability to work with NYC’s diverse communities. Positions located across five boroughs (Brooklyn, Manhattan, Bronx, Queens) with in-person supervision responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, human services, criminal justice, education, nursing or related field; 30 sem credits toward MSW or graduate degree; 18 months of child protective casework experience
- Master of Social Work degree or related master’s degree (preferred)
- Strong supervisory and leadership abilities
- Excellent communications skills
- Knowledge of NY State Connections or similar case management system
- Bilingual ability beneficial (Spanish or other languages)
- Ability to manage workload and provide staff development and disciplinary measures as needed
