Job Summary
Unit Secretary in the Radiology Service Department provides patient and family communication for imaging services, routes telephone calls, and supports imaging workflow. Responsible for proficient use of Radiology Information System (RIS) and PACS, handling film digitizer tasks, preparing outside films for interpretation, and managing image files and folders. Maintains the electronic whiteboard, assists with legal document preparation, participates in problem solving and Quality Plus initiatives, supports a positive team environment, and adheres to departmental policies, including proper disposal of hazardous pharmaceutical waste. Requires shift work with overtime and callbacks as necessary.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Knowledge of medical terminology desired
- CPR certification within 90 days of employment
- 3 months of on-the-job training and employee orientation, within hospital/department policies
