Job Summary
Perform routine patient care, support, and services while executing specialized clerical and administrative duties in accordance with established standards of care. Gains confidence and cooperation from patients, families, and healthcare providers by prioritizing information and requests in a timely manner. Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations to ensure patient privacy and safety, including managing hazardous drugs per NIOSH and USP 800 guidelines. Work independently within a team environment, utilizing advanced knowledge of electronic health records and computer applications to resolve standard problems. Operate on a varied per diem or casual schedule, including every other weekend, with a weekly pay range of $30.78 to $37.54.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification
- 1 year of recent relevant experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic nursing skills, various medical procedures, views, and equipment
- Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology
- Written and verbal communications skills to communicate with fellow team members, supervisors, patients, and other personnel
- Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies and procedures to achieve objectives and meet deadlines
- Advanced knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook), electronic health records (EHR), EPIC, and related information systems
- Ability to work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions
- Ability to identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options
- Ability to ensure the privacy of each patient's protected health information (PHI)
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and other staff members to achieve departmental and corporate objectives
- Exercises sound judgment, and developed clinical and administrative skills
- Ability to handle hazardous drugs in the course of their work, including patient care, which requires them to manage, store, prepare, receive, unpack, transport, dispose of, or administer drugs identified as hazardous or potentially hazardous by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and in accordance with the USP 800 guidelines
