Job Summary
Direct patients, visitors, and staff while managing telephone communications and relaying messages. Transcribe physician orders, enter data into electronic systems, and maintain patient charts, kardexes, and medical records. Schedule patients for diagnostic and therapeutic services, arrange transportation, and manage admissions, transfers, and discharges. Maintain unit censuses, prepare diet sheets, and ensure all documentation is complete and filed accurately. Perform clerical duties including duplicating reports, ordering supplies, and maintaining a neat work environment. Work 7a-3p day shifts with one weekend and holiday off per month.
Required Qualifications
- Equivalent to high school plus additional specialized training
- Knowledge of a variety of office procedures
- Operation of office equipment such as computer
- Ability to handle multiple priorities
- Effective communication
- 3 to 12 months experience
